Lewis D. Rowe is Emulate’s Chief Strategist. Prior to being invited to join Emulate’s leadership team, he was a strategic advisor to the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University, where he conceptualized the design vision and product roadmap for translation of Organs-on-Chips technology into today’s commercially available platform.
Lewis now plays a key role at Emulate to help formulate, frame, and evolve medium- and long-term corporate objectives with the CEO and founding team. His work combines holistic business planning, design thinking, and strategic foresight to think creatively and systematically about the organization’s future — developing deep insights into today's and tomorrow’s complex human and healthcare challenges, and shaping strategies that will guide Emulate’s actions for sustainable growth and positive impact on society.
Prior to helping commercialize Organs-on-Chips technology, Lewis provided design and consulting to Microsoft for programs related to launching cloud computing, software-as-a-service, and data platforms. As an entrepreneur, Lewis founded and led his own strategic design firm for nearly a decade, providing product development, innovation consulting, and go-to-market programs for world-renowned technology and healthcare companies including Panasonic, Motorola, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Pfizer. Lewis received his Bachelor of Science in applied design and engineering from University of Wales Trinity Saint David. He is a contributor to numerous issued and pending patents for Organs-on-Chips technology and the related Human Emulation System.
